Want to know a little about me? Well…I have lived most of my life in Oklahoma, except for a brief couple of years during my college days when my wanderlust took me to Hawaii. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and so healing for my soul, but my heart was back in Oklahoma and eventually he convinced me to come home-and I am so glad I did! I didn’t know it at the time of course, but my life adventure was just beginning! These days I live on a farm in western Oklahoma with my (very) patient hubs, our four wild and crazy boys, three dogs who rule the house and an assortment of chickens, ducks and cattle. Life is never, ever dull around here, and I would’t trade it for the world!
I am a third generation photographer. I can’t remember a time when I haven’t had a camera in my hand, always trying to capture life’s fleeting moments. I have always been creative, but it wasn’t until 2009 that I really started to use photography as an outlet for my creativity. With some (okay, a LOT of!) encouragement from my husband I started Laurel Lane Photography so that I could use my talents to capture the special milestones and moments for other families that I try to capture for my own. I am truly honored by the families that choose me to photograph them, and truly nothing beats the feeling of hearing a mother say “Oh! That is SO my child!” when she looks through her gallery.
5 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME
{1} I cannot begin my morning without my Bulletproof Coffee. And no one wants me to. I am pretty sure lives are saved because of this coffee.
{2} Cupcakes are my drug of choice. I am still searching for “The Best One-EVER”. But so far, my favorite is the Cookie Dough cupcake by Buttersweet bakery in yukon.
{3} I LOVE snow. And snow days. I can’t sleep at night I get so excited when there is snow in the weather forecast. Which is a little ironic, considering #4.
{4} I wear flip flops 12 months out of the year. I’m not crazy-when it’s cold outside, I only wear them around the house! My favorites are the cheap $5 ones from Old Navy. I may or may not have 20+ pairs in every color imaginable. Thank goodness they are easy on the bank account! It makes my camera lens addiction easier to justify.
{5} The mountains are my soulmate. Not just because of #3, either. I love the mountains in the winter, but I love them in the summer just as much. I don’t know what it is, but as soon as I can see the mountains, it’s like my whole body relaxes, and I can feel them speak to my soul. The beach is great, but if I ever win the lottery-I’m buying a mountain. And a cupcake!
